Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts is one of five finalists for the 2022 NFL MVP Award.

The league announced the finalists on Wednesday morning which include Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Justin Jefferson, and Hurts.

The third-year starter has had a career-best season, going 306-of-460 for 3,701 yards, 22 touchdowns, six interceptions, and a 66.5 completion percentage, as well as 165 rushing attempts for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Houston, Texas native led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 14-3 record in the regular season, the best in the league, and the NFC East crown. Hurts, however, only lost one game as the starter this year.

The former second round pick three seasons at the Capstone (2016-18), going 445-of-707 for 5,626 yards, 48 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, as well as 381 rushing attempts 1,976 yards, and 23 touchdowns.

Hurts received numerous accolades during his Tide tenure, including SEC Freshman of the Year (206), SEC Offensive Player of the Year (2016), First-team All-SEC (2016), a national championship (2017), and Sugar Bowl Offensive MVP (2018).

Hurts and the Eagles take on the San Francisco 49ers in the 2023 NFC Championship on Sunday, Jan. 29 at  2 p.m. CT on FOX.
