Former Alabama staffer Marc Votteler is headed to the Big Ten to become the director of player personnel at Ohio State, according to senior national college football reporter for On3Sports Matt Zenitz.

"Ohio State is expected to hire Marshall general manager Marc Votteler as director of player personnel, sources tell @on3sports. Before Marshall, Votteler was an assistant director of player personnel at Alabama, UCF and Tennessee," tweeted Zenitz.

The Tennessee alumnus has served as the football general manager at Marshall since Jan. of 2022.

"Prior to Marshall, Votteler has held various roles including the Football Assistant Director of Player Personnel at University of Alabama (March 2019-January 2022), Football Assistant Director of Player Personnel at University of Central Florida (January 2018-March 2019), Football Assistant Director of Player Personnel at University of Tennessee (January 2017-January 2018), and Football Assistant Director of Video at University of Tennessee (January 2014-January 2017)," said the Marshall Athletics website. 

Votteler will join an Ohio State program that went 11-2, appeared in the College Football Playoff, and that finished at No. 4 in the final AP Poll last season.
