The 2023 NFL Trade Deadline passes and multiple big moves were made by Super Bowl contenders. Chase Young is a San Francisco 49er, Rasul Douglas is a Buffalo Bill, and Montez Sweat is a Chicago Bear. Although all these moves were made, former Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, who has been rumored to be traded throughout the season is still a Denver Bronco.

The former 15th overall pick in the 2020 draft was supposed to be the game-changing wide receiver to replace the recently deceased Demaryius Thomas as the next great Bronco receiver. Jeudy has been right for the Broncos but not the game-changer he was supposed to be. In four seasons, Jeudy has caught 2,631 yards (Best year in 2022 with 972 yards) and 10 touchdowns.

His production may be because of the situation. Denver since Jeudy has been drafted has gone through three coaching changes and two quarterbacks. Even when the Broncos went out and brought in future Hall of Fame quarterback Russel Wilson, the Broncos have been one of the worst-run organizations in football. When Jeudy is given the ball, he flashes his first-round talent but that is far from the truth.

So why did Jeudy not get traded at the deadline?

The first main reason is the suspected hall a team would have to give up to go get the Alabama standout. The asking price according to NFL reporter Dov Kleiman was reportedly a late first or early second-round pick. Not only would you have to give up a draft pick to get Jeudy but also the team would have to pay him because Jeudy is in a contract year.

The second reason is his performance Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Before the game, the Chiefs were on a 16-game winning streak against the Denver Broncos and haven't lost to the Broncos since 2015 when Peyton Manning was the quarterback. The Broncos won the game 24-9 and Jeudy had a great game. Against the defending Super Bowl Champions, Jeudy caught two catches for 50 yards (25 a catch) and a touchdown.

Maybe Jeudy leaves in free agency or even signs an extension with Denver, either way for the rest of the 2023 season Jerry Jeudy will be a Denver Bronco.
