Oklahoma's former quarterback Jackson Arnold, who announced his intention to join the transfer portal on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, will visit Auburn later this week, according to Auburn Live On3's Justin Hokanson.

Arnold had 1,421 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and three interceptions. The sophomore quarterback also rushed for 444 yards and three touchdowns. Arnold was benched early in the season, with backup quarterback Micheal Hawkins Jr. taking over following a bad start to conference play in Week 4. Arnold returned in the South Carolina game and finished the season as the starting quarterback, leading the Sooners to a big win at home against the Alabama Crimson Tide, where Arnold rushed for 131 yards while passing for 68 yards and a touchdown, leading the Sooners to a dominating 24-3 victory over the Tide, destroying Alabama's playoff hopes.

Despite Arnold's success at the end of the season, the former 5 star quarterback will be splitting ties with Oklahoma, and one of the first teams getting some buzz is the Auburn Tigers, with Hugh Freeze in desperate need of a quarterback following the departures of Hank Brown (transferred), Holden Gernier (transferred), and Payton Thorne. Arnold appears to be a strong fit with Hugh Freeze's scheme, which focuses heavily on RPO.

Auburn will look to host Arnold on a visit near the end of this week in the hopes of acquiring Arnold not only to improve their quarterback room, which currently consists of Walker White (Freshman) and Deuce Knight (class of 2025 commit), but also to add depth, which Auburn severely lacks in that room.

As of now, Auburn isn't the only team Arnold has showed interest in visiting, with sources informing On3 Sports that the former Sooners quarterback may be in Starkville, Mississippi, sometime this weekend.

The former five-star quarterback from Guyer High School in Denton, Texas, committed to the Sooners in January 2022. Arnold will have two years of eligibility remaining.
