Drew Sanders looked like a leader for the Arkansas defense in his first game action with the Hogs on Saturday.

Sanders enrolled with the Crimson Tide as part of their 2020 recruiting class and saw significant playing time in 2021 after an injury to Christopher Allen in week one that kept him out for the season.

However once it became clear that Florida native Dallas Turner would be starting opposite Will Anderson in 2022, Sanders entered the transfer portal where he would eventually end up with Arkansas.

Sanders had 5 total tackles and a sack in the Razorbacks week one matchup against the Cincinnati Bearcats, who faced the Tide in the semi-finals of last years College Football Playoff.

Nick Saban had high praise of Sanders earlier this week, saying had he not transferred that he likely would have started for the Tide this season.

Now regardless of whether or not that is true, Sanders will look to build on his week one performance and become one of the upper echelon SEC pass rushers in 2022 with the Razorbacks.
