Former UGA QB David Greene Previews Alabama vs. Georgia [Audio]

In three days, the SEC will have their ninth national championship team in the last 12 seasons as Georgia and Alabama square off in Atlanta Monday night.

In 2002, the Bulldogs broke a two-decade SEC dry spell as sophomore signal caller David Greene led the program to their first conference title since 1982.

During Thursday’s edition of Inside the Locker Room, former Georgia quarterback David Greene looked ahead to the big game Monday night.

The former Bulldogs quarterback examined a number of areas surrounding the game including the play of Georgia’s Jake Fromm and Alabama’s Jalen Hurts at quarterback.

While Greene played under Mark Richt, he had positive things to say about how Kirby Smart has raised the bar in Athens.

“Kirby has brought a confidence, I guess raised the bar from an expectation standpoint as well.” Greene said.

An area that the former UGA signal caller sees the development of Bulldogs football is the intense support of the fans.

“It has shown this year where Kirby’s kind of set the blueprint and it’s working and the fan base is going berserk.” Greene said.

Concerning Monday night, Greene broke down his outlook and keys for the game.

“I do think it is going to be a lower scoring game. I think it’s going to have to be because I don’t think we’re going to be able to light up Alabama’s defense by any means. So, I think in Georgia’s favor we’re going to have to try and keep it lower scoring.” Greene stated.
