Four-star class of 2024 athlete Martavious Collins has decommitted from The University of Alabama.

The prospect announced the decision via a social media post on Monday morning.

"I would like to thank the whole Alabama staff for what they have done for me since my commitment," wrote Collins. "I truly appreciate everyone on the staff for believing in my talents. I am very grateful for the time and energy invested in me."

The Ga., native ranks. No. 174 nationally, No. 19 in athletes, and No. 27 in the state of Ga., according to 247Sports Composite. 

Collins is an offensive weapon, who has played as tight end and wide receiver. He attends Rome High School in Rome, Ga. Last season, he helped the Wolves to a 6A Georgia High School Association Football semifinal where the team lost to Langston Hughes 42-3.

The junior originally committed to the Crimson Tide on July 20, 2022, however has had two unofficial visits to Auburn and has received a re-offer from the Tigers in between his commitment and decommitment.

"Much love to the Alabama family and best wishes to all. After thoughts and prayers, I am going to focus on doing what's best for my future and my family," wrote Collins. "With that being said I believe that it is in my best interest to reopen my recruitment. Thank you for all of the love."
