This is the time of year that people who know me say, "This is your busy time, huh?".

I simply remind them that I'm married, with three kids - ages 13, 8, and 2. It's ALWAYS my busy time.

I'm also quick to remind them that this is really a GREAT time of year for me, as well.

As tough as this season may be for Alabama Basketball, I still love calling the games, and I still enjoy being around the players and the staff. I hate to lose, but watching Trevor Releford play has been a privilege. And I intend to enjoy each game that remains in what I hope will be a season in which Relly is named the SEC Player of the Year. (In case you missed it, our own Ben George makes a great argument for that to take place.).

It's also the time of year I wish I could be two places at once. (Professionally speaking, that is. Every time I miss one of my kids games or school events, I have that wish.)

Men's basketball is my first responsibility right now on the Crimson Tide Sports Network, so I have to miss a number of Bama Baseball games early in the season. This past weekend was one of those occasions. I'm sure I've probably been away for an opening night in my 15 years of covering the Tide on the diamond, but I don't remember when the last one was before last Friday's game against Saint Louis.

Of course, considering the way it transpired - with a 90 minute rain delay, cool temps, and a 2-1 loss - I'm not too upset that I was in Columbia, SC, that night.

While basketball will be at College Station Thursday for a game with Texas A&M, and baseball will have game one of its series with Stephen F. Austin on Friday night, I'm really looking forward to Saturday in Tuscaloosa.

Baseball will play SFA at 2 PM CT, and then I hope people will stick around to see the basketball team play at 7 PM CT against Missouri. Let's hope for good weather so that the Tide Terrace (or Champions Terrace, or That Area in Right Field, or whatever we are calling it) is as full as it was last weekend.
