After helping his high school team win the 6A Alabama State Title in early December, Ga'Quincy McKinstry is predicted to be a potential breakout candidate for the Crimson Tide defense.

There's tons of pressure being put on McKinstry as a five-star recruit, but Chris Hummer of 24/7 Sports believes McKinstry could step up and be a freshman star.

Hummer recently released an article highlighting who on each SEC each team has the best chance of making an impact as a true freshman.

"Out goes one five-star in Patrick Surtain and in comes another. The top-ranked cornerback in the 247Sports Composite, Ga'Quincy McKinstry comes to Alabama with college-ready measurables, elite athletic ability, and one heck of a nickname (Kool-Aid). He’s also one of the best corners in the 2021 cycle at playing the ball in the air. That skill set is likely to lend itself to early playing time opposite Josh Jobe.  There are other Alabama true freshmen who have a chance to play right away, especially a deep group at offensive tackle and wide receiver. But Kool-Aid is likely the player with the best combination of opportunity and skillset when you consider Alabama’s 2021 class."

Other notable names on the list are Florida CB Jason Marshall and LSU DT Maason Smith, who both came close to committing to Alabama football.
