The Alabama Crimson Tide have once again added to its 2022 recruiting class. The Tide has added 4-star safety and wide receiver Jake Pope out of Bufor, GA., to its steadily growing class. Pope is considered the No. 22 safety in the class according to 247Sports.

Pope chose Alabama over 36 other offers including Georgia, Ohio State, North Carolina and Notre Dame. Safeties coach Charles Kelly has taken the lead on Pope's recruitment with defensive coordinator Pete Golding also playing a significant role.

Pope becomes Alabama's 14th commitment in the 2022 class, the Tide remains the No. 1 recruiting class in the SEC and the No. 4 class in the country. The 6-foot-1 safety is the first defensive back to join the current recruiting class.

247 Sports National Recruiting Analyst Cooper Petagna says in his scouting report Pope "Exhibits good short area burst and explosiveness on both sides of the ball while possessing outstanding play speed. Plays with very little wasted motion, clean in and out of breaks."
