Fans will have the opportunity to compete in costume contests and win prizes while getting their first impressions of this year's gymnastics team.

This will be the first season under new head coach Ashley Johnston. Johnston is a Bama alum where she was a member of the back-to-back NCAA Championship teams in 2011 and 2012.  She was a 10-time All-American during her time at the Capstone from 2009-2013.

Since graduating from UA, Johnston's gained valuable coaching experiences– the most recent of which at Auburn where she served as the associate head coach of the Tigers team that finished 4th in the NCAA Championship last season. The Tigers beat the Tide at the barnyard 197.525-197.125.

Bama fans will get to see many new faces after graduating four seniors from last season; however, the Crimson Tide should have a strong foundation this year as the team returns it top three all-around gymnasts in Luisa Blanco, Makarri Doggette, and Lilly Hudson.

Alabama has six freshman, one sophomore, and one junior who have yet to compete in a collegiate meet as well, so fans will get their first taste of some young talent at the intramural meet.

Doors open at 2:15. Alabama faces Michigan State at home to open up the 2023 season on Jan. 6.
