Alabama legacy Ben Davis will follow in his father's footsteps and play college football 20 miles from home.

The Gordo superstar linebacker announced his decision in front of family and friends at his high school in West Alabama.

Davis, a five-star recruit and the top-ranked inside linebacker in the nation, went through the entire recruiting process and entertained the idea of leaving Alabama. Ultimately, however, he said he decided to stay home and play for the Crimson Tide.

Davis' father, Wayne, is the all-time leading tackler for Alabama and talked to us about his son's recruitment.

“Ben went into the recruiting process with his options wide open even though I played my ball at Bama. I wanted him to make this decision from his heart," Wayne Davis told Inside the Locker Room before Signing Day.

Alabama's 2016 signing class jumped all the way up to No. 2 in the nation after the commitment.
