Former Alabama Linebacker Henry To’oTo’o Agrees to Two-Year Extension with the Texans

HOUSTON, Tex. -- Former Alabama linebacker Henry To’oTo’o has agreed to a two-year, $16 million extension with the Houston Texans, sources told NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport on Thursday.

With this reported deal, the 25-year-old To’oTo’o will remain in Houston through the 2028 season. He has been with the franchise since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

To’oTo'o has started 35 of his 46 games with the Texans, tallying 261 tackles (131 solo), four sacks, 18 tackles for loss, one interception, and two forced fumbles. In the playoffs, To'oTo'o has started four games and recorded 32 tackles (14 solo) and has one tackle for loss.

In 2025, To’oTo’o had a strong season, starting 14 of 17 games for Houston and recording 95 tackles (42 solo), nine tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. He also started in both of the Texans' playoff games, notching 15 tackles (six solo) and one tackle for loss.

After transferring to Alabama from Tennessee in 2021 following his sophomore year, To’oTo’o played in 28 games for the Crimson Tide, recording 206 tackles (98 solo), 16 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and one forced fumble.

In his senior season, To’oTo’o earned first-team All-SEC honors and was selected as a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, which is presented annually to the nation’s top linebacker.

To’oTo’o is the second member of Houston’s 2023 draft class to secure a contract extension. His former college teammate, Will Anderson Jr., recently signed a historic three-year, $150 million deal that made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
