The New Orleans Pelicans have suffered yet another blow to their roster. Former Alabama Basketball star Herb Jones has suffered a right shoulder strain and a partial rotator cuff tear.

Jones injured his right shoulder during Tuesday’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Today, team physicians re-evaluated Jones and performed additional imaging. The results came back: Jones was diagnosed with a right shoulder strain and a small low-grade partial-thickness tear in his rotator cuff. The timeframe for his recovery and rehab is approximately 2 to 4 weeks, and his return to play will be based on how he responds to treatment.

Jones is coming off a really good year for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2023-24. Jones averaged 11.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, with a 49.8 FG percentage, 41.8 three-point percentage, and 86.7 FT percentage. And to add to his resume, Jones was named to the 2023-2024 Kia NBA All-Defensive First Team.

We wish Herb Jones a Speedy Recovery. Make sure to download the Tide Sports 100.9 App for all the latest on Alabama Crimson Tide Sports.
