Alabama's incoming quarterback Ty Simpson, who has been enrolled since December and his been practicing with the team ahead of the College Football Playoffs, just earned himself his fifth star from 247Sports. Simpson finished the 2022 rotation among the top 32 quarterbacks in the nation.

During his senior year at Westview High School, he led his team to a state championship. Simpson passed for 2,921 yards and 44 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,206 yards and another 15 touchdowns throughout the season.

One of the Tide's biggest leaders Bryce Young, gave his thoughts on the young quarterback and what he could bring to the team in the coming years.

“I got to know him pretty well. He was here throughout recruiting a good amount,” Young said. “You build a relationship with a guy just from talking, and then when you see them on the field and you guys are doing the same things in the same meeting rooms, that makes all the difference. So seeing how attentive he is in meetings, he’s really trying to stick on everything O-B is saying in meetings. He’s talked to me, he’s talked to other guys about just how we see things. For a young guy that’s that curious and wants to learn, that’s always a great sign."

“And then you can tell he’s a natural thrower. He’s made some really good throws, even early, and that’s not easy when you’re straight from coming from high school and you’re thrust into us in playoff practice mode at the end of the season, you’re kind of just thrust into taking some reps. He’s made some good throws, and he definitely has all the potential in the world. We’re all excited to see him grow and develop.”

Based off of what Young said, Simpson seems to be really buying in to the program here at Alabama and that is a great sign for a young guy like him just starting off his career here.
