Former Alabama and current Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has filed a trademark application for his famous quote, "I had a purpose before anyone had an opinion," according to trademark attorney Josh Gerben.

The application was filed on Feb. 14, and it says that Hurts plans to use the words for a clothing brand.

Hurts said these words in one of his Super Bowl LVII press conferences days before the game. The phrase was used as part of his response to one of the reporters asking him, "why do you think you are having so much success and making it look easy so early in your NFL career when the critics said you wouldn’t become a very good NFL quarterback?"

The third-year quarterback had a breakout season this past year. During the regular season, he went for 3,701 passing yards and 22 passing touchdowns along with 760 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns, led the Eagles to a 14-1 record as a starter, and was the runner-up for the NFL MVP award.

In the playoffs, Hurts and Philadelphia defeated the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers on their way to the Super Bowl. The Eagles narrowly lost in the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs, 38-35.

Despite the losing effort, Hurt still had one of the best performances on the big stage, going 27-for-38 on passing for 304 yards, was his team's leading rusher with 70 rushing yards, and had four total touchdowns.

Hurts performance will also go down in Super Bowl history, as he is the first quarterback and only the second player overall to rush for three touchdowns in a Super Bowl.
