Jase McClellan Named to Maxwell Award Preseason Watch List
The Maxwell Football Club announced its preseason watch list for the 87th annual Maxwell Award on Monday morning. Among the players of the list is Alabama running back Jase McClellan.
McClellan had an amazing 2022 season, rushing for 655 yards and seven touchdowns, while averaging 5.8 yards per carry. He also had 14 receptions for 174 yards and three receiving touchdowns.
The Aledo, TX. native's biggest performance in 2022 came in the game against Austin Peay, where McClellan rushed for 156 yards in 17 carries.
Other players on the list include notable college football stars from last season such as Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Joe Milton, Bo Nix, Blake Corum, Brock Bowers, and last year's Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams.
Other awards such as the Bednarik, Biletnikoff, Rimington, and Walter Camp awards will have their preseason candidate lists revealed throughout August.
