Alabama Women’s Basketball’s Jasmine Walker is this week’s SEC Player of the Week, the league announced earlier Tuesday.

The 6-3 senior forward scored 41 of Alabama’s 92 points against the Auburn Tigers this last Sunday. That total was not only a new career-high in single-game points for Walker, but set the new program record for points by a single player. It also completed a season sweep of the Tigers for women’s basketball, who defeated its rival on Jan. 24 as well.

During the game, Walker was 14-23 on field goals including 7-13 from three and a perfect 6-6 on free throws. 21 of the 41 points came in the fourth quarter. In addition to the impressive shooting performance, Walker contributed 15 rebounds, making her the only player in the SEC since 2003 to have 40+ points and 15 rebounds.

Through 19 games, Walker averages 20.8 points a game, which places her second in the SEC. This is Walker’s first weekly honor of the season.

In addition to this honor, the Montgomery native was a 2021 Preseason All-SEC Second Team selection, a Naismith Trophy Midseason Team selection, and a 2021 Katrina McClain Award Finalist.
