Tuscaloosa, Ala. - The University of Alabama RISE Center will host its annual golf fundraiser, centered around the RISE Tournament of Champions, from April 24-25.

The tournament will take place at the NorthRiver Yacht Club in Tuscaloosa and is a four-person drop-out scramble with required handicaps. Tee times are available in both the morning and afternoon on both days of the tournament, with registration starting at $2,800 for a four-person team.

In a statement released by the UA Rise Center, director Andi Gillen said, “RISE has been providing services to children for over 50 years in the Tuscaloosa community and as we look to the future, we are creatively looking for ways to meet the needs of our children and families,” said Andi Gillen, director of the UA RISE Center. “In the upcoming year, we hope to expand our therapeutic services to include feeding therapy and music and movement therapy for children. Additional funds raised at our fundraisers will allow us to create new programs and reach more children and families that are in need of support and therapy in our community.”

The cost for a child to attend RISE five days a week is over $20,000. RISE receives some funding from the University of Alabama; fundraisers like the golf tournament are "crucial" to the success of the program.

There are eight RISE programs across the country, but the Tuscaloosa location is the only one where children in need of therapy can continue to attend for free, thanks to the donations from the tournament and fundraisers.

The top three teams with the best gross and net scores will win prizes, including TVs, paddleboards, range finders, golf bags, and Top-Gold experiences.

The top prizes for the winners include Alabama-related memorabilia, including autographs from head football coach Kalen DeBoer, men's basketball coach Nate Oats, and legendary former Alabama coach Nick Saban.

Golfers will receive a gift upon check-in, and lunch will be provided over the two days.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer and other prominent UA celebrities will attend the event.

There will also be a silent auction on April 29. The CHIP in for RISE silent auction will take place from 6-9 p.m. at the University Club. The auction will feature Alabama athletic memorabilia, golf packages, jewelry, and works of art. Tickets are available at the door on April 29.
