Last Saturday, the Crimson Tide defeated the LSU Tigers with a final score of 20-9. Over 50 prospects from the 2026 and 2027 classes attended the game, and the Tide's 11-point win left one five-star offensive tackle from the 2027 class stating that Alabama is the standard he is looking for in schools.

Five-star offensive tackle Kennedy Brown left his visit to Alabama feeling that the school had positioned itself as a leading contender in his recruitment. According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, Brown expressed to Wiltfong after the visit, "Bama is now the standard that my mom and I are looking for in schools."

Brown is a 6-foot-3, 285-pound offensive tackle from Kingwood High School in Houston, Texas, where he has excelled in his Junior season, earning an invitation to the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl that will be played on January 10th, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, where Kennedy will face off against the nation’s top high school football talent.

Brown is one of the most highly touted prospects in the 2027 class, with 247 Sports Composite ranking the Junior tackle as the No. 2 offensive tackle, No. 2 player from the state of Texas, and No. 4 overall prospect in the 2027 class.

Alabama extended an offer to Brown earlier this year, back in April, when the No.2 offensive tackle from the 2027 class came down to Tuscaloosa for his first visit on the Crimson Tide’s campus.

Back in July, 247’s sports, Bud Elliott had a conversation with Brown, where the No. 2 prospect out of the state of Texas shared the schools that truly have his attention. This list included Alabama, Oregon, Texas, Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Penn State.

This would be a significant addition to the Crimson Tide’s 2027 class, which currently has four commitments, including one offensive lineman, four-star interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams, who committed in September. According to 247 Sports, the Tide's 2027 class is currently ranked 10th in the nation and fourth in the SEC.

Brown, who is still growing into his frame, would bring a “Natural bender who can wall of edge speed,” according to 247 Sports’ Scouting Analyst Gabe Brooks' scouting report on Brown, which fully states “Traitsy offensive tackle prospect who wears existing mass well while possessing additional bulking capacity. Not the tallest tackle, but owns monstrous length. Experience at both tackle spots; can stay outside while providing roster flexibility across the offensive front. Multi-sport box checker with 50-foot shot put prowess. Still growing into frame, which can impact fluidity at times. Future high-major starter with the tools to become a serious NFL Draft candidate.”

Brown's recruitment is still in its early stages. However, Alabama has clearly emerged as the favorite. The talented offensive tackle views Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide as a model for what he desires from the program he ultimately chooses.
