Former Alabama running back Kenyan Drake signed a two year deal that is worth up to $14.5 million with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders now add its second Alabama running back to the team. Drake joins Josh Jacobs to make one of the leagues best running back duos.

However, this has come after the Raiders lost a few offensive lineman this week for cap purposes. The Rodney Houston release certainly wont help the run game that has struggled at times even though Jacobs has been a Pro Bowl running back. The average for Jacobs was 3.9 yards per carry in 2020 which most would say he should be in the 4 and up range.

Drake will add speed and a different change of pace than even Jacobs displays on the field. They will have similar tendencies and form that will be displayed on Sundays, but each has their own style that sets them apart. If used right the Raiders could be one of the hardest teams to defend for a full four quarters.

Jacobs can be a bruiser at times with his short and strong build. Yet he explodes onto the field with flashes of quickness and great vision. His awareness and ability to catch the ball consistently out the backfield goes right in line to how he was used when he played at Alabama. Both Drake and Jacobs were running and pass catching backs at Alabama, and the Raiders under head coach Jon Gruden will use them in that same style of play. Look for the Raiders to have a top ten offense in the league in 2021. That is if they can block enough for the entirety of the season.
