Kilfoyl Named SEC Pitcher of the Week
Alabama softball pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl was named SEC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
This comes one day after Kilfoyl pitched a perfect game in the Tide's 9-0 victory against Georgia on Monday night, securing the series win. She also broke her season-high of strikeouts in a game, which now sits at 10.
Kilfoyl also pitched a full seven innings in Sunday's 9-3 win against Georgia, giving up: 7 hits, 3 earned runs, 4 walks, and eight strikeouts.
The junior from Fla., has been a threat on both sides of the ball for Team 26. In her 62.2 innings pitched, Kilfoyl has allowed 48 hits, 17 earned runs, 26 walks, 59 strikeouts, 5 homeruns and is 7-2 on the season with a 1.90 ERA.
During Kilfoyl's 13 at bats in six games this season, thus far, she picked up: 4 hits, 3 runs batted in, 1 homerun, 2 walks, and has a .308 batting average.
This is Kilfoyl's first award this season. Since coming to Tuscaloosa, she has received: SEC Freshman of the Week (2/17/20), SEC Newcomer of the Week (3/16/21), All-SEC Newcomer Team (2021), and NFCA Third Team All-South Region (2021), according to rolltide.com.
