Montana Fouts is already showing off her talent at the beginning of the 2021 softball season.

On Monday, Feb. 15, after starting just two games, it was announced that Fouts has been named this week's SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Fouts began the season on Friday against Alabama State going 12-up, 12-down over 4.0 innings.

She threw 45 pitches with 27 of them being strikes for a total of nine strikeouts.

Pitchers Montana Fouts and Sarah Cornell had a combined shutout over Alabama State which led to the Crimson Tide to win the game via run-rule in the fifth inning.

Fouts continued to show her pitching abilities on Sunday with a complete-game shutout in game one of the doubleheader against Louisville.

She allowed just one hit and one walk through seven innings and threw 11 strikeouts almost passing her career high of 12.

Fouts pitched a total of 11.0 innings this past weekend. She allowed just one hit, one walk and struck out 20 batters.

She ended the the week with a 2-0 record and a 0.00 ERA. A strong start to her season.

After earning SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week, Fouts adds to her total of weekly conference awards. She previously earned SEC Freshman of the Week four times in 2019 and SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week once.
