Nate Oats Says Jahvon Quinerly is on Track for Return
Alabama basketball was the talk of the town these past couple of days as they hosted an open practice in Coleman Coliseum on Saturday morning for the foreign tour coming up this August.
Many stars have seemed to align for the Tide as Jaden Bradley, Nimari Burnett, and Brandon Miller all had an exceptional showing during the White vs Crimson scrimmage.
After the Friday practice, Nate Oats had a media scrum regarding the team and other questions heading into the summer tour.
Oats made a statement on Jahvon Quinerly's return.
"I think he's right on pace. We were hoping to get him back by SEC play. We might get him back earlier."
Quinerly tore his ACL in the March Madness round of 64 game vs Notre Dame.
The Jersey native had a tough time establishing himself this past season as his minutes increased and he played a more pivotal role in carrying the offense on his shoulders.
Without the likes of Herb Jones bringing the ball up half court and John Petty making defenses play the three-point line, he was seen forcing shots and playing superhero ball way too often last season.
The hope is for Quinerly to remain a leader on the team while pushing some of the newer guys in making sure their ready to play in the system.
This Tide team is going to need his experience and toughness if we're going to make a splash in 2023 regular season and hopefully extending deep into March.
