Former Alabama and current Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams will return from his suspension next week, two weeks earlier than anticipated, due to the NFL changing its gambling policy on Friday.

"As a result of gambling policy changes, Titans’ OT Nick Petit-Frere and Lions’ WR Jameson Williams will be reinstated effective on Monday. They each had served four game suspensions for violations of the league’s gambling policy," posted ESPN's Adam Schefter via X.

Williams was suspended six games in April for violating the NFL's gambling policy, which is now a two-game suspension under the league's new rules.

Detroit is currently 3-1 on the season and the team takes on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Oct. 8 at noon CT on FOX.
