Bama in the NFL: Week Nine Outlook
Week Nine starts off hot with a matchup between the Ravens and the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football. A ton of Bama players to watch in that matchup, and in the others this weekend. Lets break them down.
Ravens at Dolphins - (Thu. Oct. 30, 7:15 p.m. ct):
Derrick Henry (Ravens) - Coming off a good game last week, Henry is now facing a weak run defense in the Dolphins. With Jackson back under center, Henry should be able to make due of his touches.
Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins) - Coming off what might be his best game of the season so far, the star qb now faces a gettable Ravens defense and looks to continue that momentum in this matchup. With Hill still out the run game and Waddle will be his main chain movers.
Jaylen Waddle (Dolphins) - Coming off one of his best games as well, Waddle and Tagovailoa look to continue their explosive chemistry against a tough-ish Ravens secondary. Look for Waddle to make his amazing catches and take off with speed.
Vikings at Lions (Sun. Nov. 2 Noon):
Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) - Looking to continue his explosive start to the 2025 season, Gibbs and this Lions offense can continue their hot streak against a damaged Vikings team. Gibbs should be able to continue in what he does best, especially catching the ball out of the backfield.
Jameson Williams (Lions) - Williams has been matchup dependent and game flow dependent, making him a boom or bust playmaker for this offense. I suspect this one will have his usage see an uptick. Look for a few deep shots to Williams in this one.
Panthers at Packers (Sun. Nov. 2 Noon):
Bryce Young (Panthers) - We will see how he shapes out at Friday's practice. He could still be out again this week, but if he plays he will have tough sledding against a strong Packers defense.
Josh Jacobs (Packers) - Jacobs should be able to be the playmaker on the ground for the Pack that they know he is. This is not the best defense to face for a running back, but Jacobs should be able to take advantage in the passing game and short yardage usage.
That does it for the week nine outlook. Check back Tuesday for the recap.
