Nick Saban Takes Being Favored on Saturday Lightly
The Alabama football team goes on the road for the first time this season as the Tide face off against the Texas Longhorns in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban previewed this matchup on the Hey Coach show on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on Thursday night.
While talking about the upcoming game, Saban brought up being a huge favorite and how that fared for his team last year in Texas.
“Everyone has heard that we’re 20 point favorites in this game and the last time we were 20-point favorites and we went to Texas, we got our ass kicked.”
Many Alabama fans remember the wild game that happened in Kyle Field last season.
Alabama was an 18-point favorite going into the Texas A&M game, but that line did not hold up at all in this contest. The Tide were plagued by drops, turnovers, and sacks which led to a 41-38 defeat in College Station, Texas.
Alabama looks to come away with a different result in the Lone Star State this season.
Kickoff between the Tide and Longhorns on Saturday is at 11 a.m. CST on FOX. Radio coverage will be available on Tide 100.9 or the Tide 100.9 app, which is free to download in the App Store or Google Play.
