Oregon State WR Richard Mullaney Says He’ll Transfer to Alabama
As Alabama tries to replace its top three pass catchers from 2014, it looks like another experienced wide receiver will be in the mix for playing time. Oregon State's Richard Mullaney tweeted Tuesday that he would be transferring to The University of Alabama.
Mullaney is a graduate transfer who will be eligible to play this fall and will have one year of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-3, 194-pound receiver brings a lot of experience to Tuscaloosa and will provide Lane Kiffin's offense with a veteran at the position.
During his three years at Oregon State, Mullaney tallied 83 catches for 1,160 yards and three touchdowns. He finished second on the team with 52 receptions and 788 yards as a sophomore in 2013. One year ago, he was third on the Beavers with 18 receptions when an elbow injury ended his season after six games.
"OSU and Reser Stadium will always be a special place for me and I'm very thankful of 'Beaver Nation' for all the support," Mullaney said in a statement last week. "I also want to thank Coach [Gary] Andersen for his support in my decision. I wish him and all of my former teammates the best of luck this season."
Here are some highlights from his breakout year in 2013.
