Paul W. Bryant Claims 6A State Title

For the first time since 2017, the Paul Bryant men's basketball team has claimed the blue map, defeating Pinson Valley 66-54 in the AHSAA Class 6A state title. It's the second championship in program history for Paul W. Bryant.

Javian Williams led the way for the Stampede in the victory, scoring 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field. He also brought down six rebounds while contributing four assists in the victory.

King Larkin was on Williams' heels in the scoring department, with 16 points of his own while adding 10 rebounds, securing a double-double in the state championship win. Josh Williams also added 11 points and seven rebounds in the victory.

Pinson Valley started the game 3-0, but a quick 8-0 run by Paul Bryant put the Stampede in the lead 14-8 after the first quarter. Paul Bryant kept its foot on the gas with a 12-0 run in the second quarter, leading to an impressive 34-20 lead at halftime. the excitement was palpable from the Stampede faithful as they were halfway to a state title.

The Stampede came out in the second half with one goal in mind - victory - as they took a 24-point lead into the final frame. Pinson Valley tried to rally, but the Indians could never get the lead under 14 points, cementing the Paul W. Bryant Stampede as 6A State Champions.
