Former Alabama linebacker Reggie Ragland has reached an agreement to join the Detroit Lions for the 2020 season. Ragland won the Super Bowl this past season with the Kansas City Chiefs. Ragland is entering his fifth season in the NFL.

He was drafted in the second round by the Buffalo Bills in 2016 but missed his rookie season due to a torn ACL. The Bills traded him to the Chiefs in exchange for a fourth round draft pick. Ragland has played the last three seasons with the Chiefs.

In 42 professional games, Ragland has tallied 160 tackles, 10 for a loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Ragland won two National Championships, three SEC Championships, was named SEC Defensive Player of the year in 2015, an All-American in 2015 and was named First-Team All-SEC in 2014 and 2015 during his time with the Crimson Tide.

His rookie contract was worth $5.8 million, the contract details of his new deal with the Detroit Lions are not yet known.
