Report: Alabama OL Matt Womack to Miss Spring Camp with Broken Foot
Alabama's starting right tackle will miss the entirety of spring camp after undergoing surgery on a cracked bone in his foot.
According to BamaInsider.com, Matt Womack suffered the injury during workouts and the recovery process will keep him out six weeks. The loss along the line means Alabama will work some new players into the rotation as it tries to find its best five players up front. The Tide already needs to replace starting center Bradley Bozeman from last year's team so we could see some different groupings along the line this spring.
Womack was one of the nice surprises for Alabama last season after he earned the starting right tackle position as redshirt sophomore and started all 14 games for the Tide. Sophomore Jedrick Willis will likely work at the right tackle spot this spring in his absence, but it will be interesting to see what combinations the coaches try.
Spring practice begins this afternoon with the first of 15 practices that concludes with the A-Day game on April 21.
