Ryan Williams Added to the Maxwell Award Watch list
Standout Crimson Tide freshman wide receiver, Ryan Williams, continues to impress as he has been added to the Maxwell Award Watch List.
Williams Put up 32 yards on just 4 receptions last week against the scrappy South Carolina Gamecocks, leading the Crimson Tide to a 27-25 victory over the Gamecocks.
Williams has continued each week to have one of the most impressive freshman seasons for a wide receiver, bringing in an impressive 576 receiving yards on just 23 receptions, as well as hauling in six touchdowns to go along with his already fantastic resume .
Williams is currently number 12 in the nation when it comes to receiving yards, and just No. 2 in the SEC, only behind standout Ole Miss wide receiver, Tre Harris.
Williams is definitely no stranger when it comes to winning awards, as already this season he has been added to the midseason watch lists for both the Biletnikoff and Maxwell, selected to the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award Watch List, named Shaun Alexander Player of the Week following the Georgia matchup, and earned SEC Freshman of the Week accolades for his play against Western Kentucky and UGA.
Williams will be back in action this Saturday, as the Crimson Tide will take on the No. 11, Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville, Tennessee in what is sure to be a Top-15 matchup thriller.
