Saban: “We don’t really have a depth chart”
The countdown to Sep. 2 has already started in Tuscaloosa, Ala. On Monday, the 2023 Alabama Crimson Tide held its first spring practice of the year. To end the day, head coach Nick Saban spoke to the media on the upcoming season and the goals of spring practice.
"The number one focus of spring is on your development," said the seven-time national champion. Every player, we want you to focus on your development, not what team you are, not where you are at, not the reps, but take advantage of every opportunity you get. A lot of opportunities, everybody has an opportunity to compete".
Multiple starting positions will be up for grabs this spring and there could be lots of changes leading up to the Middle Tennessee game. The main positions up for grabs are quarterback, offensive line, middle and outside linebacker, and defensive end.
The first time the public will be able to see the 2023 version of Alabama Crimson Tide will be on April, 22 for the annual spring game. A-Day will conclude spring practice and then fall camp starts in early August. A month after fall camp starts, Alabama opens up the 2023 season in hopes to bring home their 19th National Championship.
