Following Alabama’s 49-26 win over Arkansas, former Alabama player and current Arkansas linebacker Drew Sanders spoke to the media.

Sanders was asked what it was like playing his old team and sacking Alabama quarterback Bryce Young.

“When I’m in game mode, I’m in game mode. I’m not out there to make friends, I’m out there to play the game,” said Sanders. “I mean after it was great seeing all the guys, got to talk to them a little bit, but when it’s game time it’s game time.”

Against the Tide, Sanders led the Razorbacks with 12 tackles, recorded the only sack, one tackle-for-loss, and one quarterback hurry. The sack was huge by Sanders, as it ultimately led to Young spraining his shoulder early in the second quarter.

The 2021 Heisman winner did not return for the rest of the game.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban announced that Young would be “day-to-day” as a looming matchup with Texas A&M approaches.
