The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms on a new contract for former Crimson Tide defensive tackle Jarran Reed. His new deal is worth $23M over two years.

Drafted 49th overall in 2016, Reed finished his rookie contract this past season. Reed fell from grace in 2019, posting just two sacks in 10 games as he was suspended the first six games for violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy relating to an incident of alleged domestic violence from 2017.

In 2018 Reed was responsible for 10.5 sacks and appeared to have unlocked his full NFL potential. Reed's new deal will give him two more years to prove his worth to the Seahawks while giving him the benefit of hitting the free-agent market again before he turns 30.
