SEC Honors Tide Gymnast
Turns out, what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay there.
Alabama gymnast Gabby Gladieux was named the SEC Specialist of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The pride of Greensboro, N.C., Gladieux tied for the nation’s highest individual score to finish first on the floor exercise with a career-best 9.975 at the Super 16 Gymnastics Championships in Las Vegas last weekend. The sophomore was the only gymnast in a session with No. 5 UCLA, No. 7 Cal and No. 17 Auburn to earn at least one judge's 10 on a routine.
The No. 4 Alabama gymnastics program hosts the No. 3 Missouri Tigers for Bama's 2024 home opener in Coleman Coliseum Friday night at 6 p.m. CT. The top-five matchup will be broadcast on SEC Network.
