He is a former sixth-round for the Washington Commanders in the 2018 NFL Draft and appeared in 46 games for the team across his first three seasons as a pro. Hamilton was placed on injured reserve late into his third season and was waived by Washington in January of 2021.

Hamilton got picked up by Detroit off waivers in January of 2021 and was signed to a one-year deal worth $920,000. He was sidelined for the season in August for an undisclosed injury.

Despite having almost 60 active players in the NFL, the only other Alabama alum with Hamilton in Detriot is cornerback Savion Smith, who has been with the Lions since 2021.

Hamilton was a part of two national title teams while in Tuscaloosa ('15, '17) and was named a permanent team captain for 2017 after sustaining his second consecutive season-ending injury as a senior against LSU.

For his career in the pros, Hamilton has accounted for 98 tackles (70 solo), two forced fumbles and an interception recorded in week six of his rookie season.
