The Crimson Tide took game one of the series on Friday in a 4-0 victory, but game two was not so favorable for Team 27.

Lauren Esman started on the mound for the Tide, and LSU jumped out to an early lead with an explosive four-run first inning. A pair of fielding mistakes by Alabama prolonged the inning and allowed the Tigers to jump out to the early start.

LSU added two more runs in the third inning to end their scoring for the day and provide a comfortable lead.

Alabama’s offense struggled on the day, only producing two hits and one run, a solo home run to left center field from Bailey Dowling in the fourth inning.

“We still have to have a little more fight in us,” said Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy after the loss. “The bounce back needs to be greater.”

The third and final game of the series takes place Sunday at 11:30 a.m. CT. It’s the final regular season home game for Alabama, and coverage will be on Me-TV 97.5 FM and the Me-TV 97.5 app which is free to download in the App Store.
