The pandemic is not over as many are still battling COVID-19 in their own lives and as a nation the need for caution is still there, but the return of sports and the return of competition shows that the nation is healing and we are on way back to normal life.

With news of Texas and Mississippi lifting Covid-19 restrictions, hope is on the horizon. Alabama governor, Kay Ivey, announced she is lifting the state’s Covid-19 restrictions April 9th and does not intend on extending it beyond that date.

Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner, announced that the NFL is filling approximately 7,500 seats with vaccinated health care workers at Super Bowl LV.

The chief said TPD's first instinct after the game was to allow the students to celebrate peacefully, but after 15-20 minutes "something shifted" and a few fights broke out.

It's still rather shocking, but college football did it. It fought through COVID-19 and a mound of negative pressure to get through a memorable 2020 season.

It's official: the national championship is on.

According to John Talty and Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Monday night's national championship game between Alabama and Ohio State could be pushed back to a later date due to COVID-19 issues.

The TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl, which was scheduled for Friday, Jan. 1 at Legion Field will be cancelled due to an insufficient amount of teams participating in bowl season. This year's game was supposed to matchup a member from the SEC and the American Athletic Conference. The cancellation puts an end to a 14-year run of bowl games in Birmingham.

For 40 years, Coach Mike Krzyzewski has been pacing the court of Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Duke Blue Devils' legend has won Naismith College Coach of the Year three times and has coached the Blue Devils to a national championship five times in his tenure, so surely we should be listening to him... Right?

Eli Gold, the iconic voice of the Alabama Crimson Tide, has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not call Saturday's matchup between Bama and the Arkansas Razorbacks.
