As another electric week of high school football in the state of Alabama comes to an end, some teams in the Tuscaloosa area are looking fierce early on.

The Gordo Greenwave (2-0, 0-0) won its home opener against the Aliceville Yellow Jackets (1-1, 0-0) tonight 30-12 at Pickens County High School. The Greenwave is playing its home games at Pickens County High School due to stadium construction.

Tanner Bailey, a class of 2022 quarterback from Gordo High School joined The Gary Harris Show today. Bailey came on the show to discuss his career so far and talk about receiving a scholarship offer from the University of Alabama. Gordo High School is headed back to the state finals for the first time in six years after beating rival American Christian Academy, 5-2, on Thursday night.

Gordo High School Wrestling team and Softball team are having a fundraiser on Friday April 8th at the GHS Gymnasium 7:30 p.m. Professional Wrestling is coming to Gordo! The Main Event Its called Star Wars 2016.
