Alabama guard Riley Norris will miss the start of the season after having a procedure done on his heart.

The Alabama men's basketball team received some good news this week when the NCAA approved a medical hardship waiver for senior Riley Norris that will allow him to play one more year for the Tide.

Alabama head coach Avery Johnson announced Saturday that senior guard/forward Riley Norris will miss the remainder of the season with a hip injury and is scheduled to have surgery Friday morning.

Alabama met with the media on Friday ahead of a home game with Mississippi State, and sophomores Riley Norris and Justin Coleman joined Avery Johnson at the podium.
