Last week the University of Tennessee made the decision to fire head football coach Jeremey Pruitt amid several recruiting allegations that have overshadowed the program. Additionally Phillip Fulmer resigned from his position as athletic director, leaving holes in two leadership positions for the Vols to fill. Tennessee moved quickly and hired Danny White to be the new athletic director and this morning it has named Josh Heupel as the new head football coach.
The NCAA could grant immediate eligibility to Tennessee football players opting to transfer out of Knoxville with the Vols facing possible punishment from the NCAA. This possibility makes To'o To'o one of the more coveted transfers in this year's cycle should he choose to pursue a new school.
The Crimson Tide playing against the Vols is a huge tradition on the third Saturday of October every year. The good thing about this rivalry is that Alabama always comes out on top, defeating Tennessee since 2006.
Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt told the media today that the NCAA approved the appeal for immediate eligibility for highly touted transfer offensive lineman Cade Mays. Mays transferred form the University of Georgia to the University of Tennessee this spring after starting the last two seasons for the Bulldogs.
