Three-Star DL Flips Commitment From Utah to Alabama
Three-star class of 2024 defensive lineman Isaia Faga has flipped his commitment from Utah to Alabama.
"To Begin, I wish to thank the University of Utah's football staff for its belief in me and for extending a truly highly regarded opportunity to continue my education and my football career as a Utah Ute. I want to personally thank Coach Whittingham, Coach Ellis, my Uncle Lui who is Coach Powell, and all of the university staff members who have unconditionally supported me and made me feel as though I am a valued member of the Ute Family. But after a change of heart my family and I have decided to decommit from the University of Utah. Thank You," wrote Faga.
The Phenix City, Ala., native ranks No. 764 nationally, No. 78 in defensive lineman, and No. 33 in the state of Ala., according to 247Sports Composite.
Faga committed to Utah on Dec. 10, 2022, however has received multiple offers since then, including one from the Crimson Tide on March 4 and had an official visit to the Capstone on June 9.
"With that being said, I would like to thank all of the programs that have blessed me with the opportunity to become a student athlete at their university. For the coaches that spent their time and effort into recruiting and for that I am forever grateful. The biggest and Best Blessing God gifted me with is my support system at home. My Family. Mom and dad without your love, guidance and support we couldn't have achieved this goal of playing college football. From my Papa and Grandma, Pa and TuTu, my sisters, aunties, uncles, cousins and close friends thank you for all of the unconditional love and support. Thank you Coach Nix, Coach Hat, Coach Mitchell, Coach Lyles, and teammates for the time and patience you guys put into me. With all that being said.. It is an Honor and Privilege to announce that I am COMMITTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA... ROLL TIDE," wrote Paga.
