Tide 102.9 Launches New Sports Betting Show ‘The Odds Hour’
Tuscaloosa's only sports station will add to its stacked live and local lineup with a new one-hour show with a focus on sports betting.
Now that states around the country, including neighboring Mississippi, are legalizing sports betting, the industry is poised to takeoff in 2018 and beyond. More and more people will be interested in the point spreads for college and professional games so Tide 102.9 will tailor programming to those listeners every week.
Beginning Thursday night following 'Hey Coach', The Odds Hour with host Ben George will debut on the station. The hour will be spent primarily on the biggest college football games every week with guests that will share their perspectives of point spreads, totals, futures and more.
The show is presented every week by the all-new Sportsbook in the Timeout Lounge at the Golden Moon Casino in Choctaw, Mississippi. Pearl River Resort had a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday morning to launch sports betting on the property for the first time in history. Just two hours from Tuscaloosa, Pearl River Resort and Casino is the closest location for fans in central Alabama to place their bets.
The Odds Hour will also feature a hotline for bettors to call and celebrate their wins or complain about their bad beats on the weekends. Call and leave a message at 205-530-TAKE (8253) and you could be featured on the show.
