Tide Offers Two Top Tier Prospects
Alabama sent out two offers on Tuesday afternoon to a couple of wide receiver prospects.
The first is Andy Jean from the class of 2023.
The Miami, Fla., native attends Northwestern High School, which went 10-4 last season, won its division (Class 6A Region 4 District 16), and ranked at No. 85 in Florida High School Athletics Association rankings at the end of the regular season.

The three-star recruit ranks at No. 54 in wide receivers and No. 79 in the state of Fla., according to ESPN 300's class of 2023 rankings.
"A go-to target for one of South Florida’s most storied high school programs. Caught 40 passes for 733 yards (18.3 yards per reception) and 8 touchdowns in 14 games while playing in Sunshine State’s 6A classification. Had arguably his best game against the national powerhouse that is IMG Academy catching 6 balls for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns in a loss on the road; Played on the offseason 7-on-7 circuit for the Miami Immortals," said 247 Sports scouting report on Jean.
Jean originally committed to the University of Miami, but de-committed in March of 2022.
Alabama is one of 16 offers that Jean has received thus far. According to 24 Sports, Jean is warm on Florida, Miami, Georgia, and Texas A&M.
The second offer went to class of 2025, in-state wide receiver Derick Smith from Selma, Ala.
Smith plays for Southside High School as both a wide receiver and safety. Last season, the Panthers went 9-2, finished second in Class 3A-Region 3, and lost to Bayside Academy by a single point in the first round of the playoffs.
However, the sophomore finished his season on a strong note, landing himself on the 2021 3A First-Team All-State football team.
Alabama is one of seven offers thus far for Smith. The others include Ole Miss, Michigan, Georiga, NC State, Penn State, and Arkansas.
