TJ Yeldon & Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Get Workout With Carolina Panthers
According to multiple reports, former Alabama Crimson Tide stars running back TJ Yeldon and safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix have received a try out opportunity with the Carolina Panthers.
Clinton-Dix was not on a roster last year after being cut by the Dallas Cowboys in a surprising more, though his work out with the Panthers isn't the first of the off season. The 2014 first-round pick by the Green Bay Packers also tried out with the Las Vegas Raiders in March and the Houston Texans in May.
The veteran safety has spent seasons with the Chicago Bears and Washington Football Team in recent years. Although he missed last season, Clinton-Dix stared every game between 2015 and 2019 and has 522 tackles and 16 interceptions, including a touchdown, in his career.
As for Yeldon, it's the first time the 2015 second-round pic's name has surfaced this offseason. The former Jacksonville Jaguar spent the past two seasons with the Buffalo Bills and struggled to find success. Last year Yeldon had just 11 touches, including a 22-yard touchdown on his lone reception of the season. It was his only score in 41 total touches for the Bills.
Though Yeldon's time in Buffalo hasn't provided many opportunities, the six-year veteran has 2,005 rushing yards and seven touchdowns with 1,448 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 185 receptions in his NFL career.
Both players are hoping to be among the many NFL veterans on the free agent market looking to land on a roster before training camps begin.
Both players played key roles in their respective Crimson Tide careers. Clinton-Dix recorded 98 tackles and seven interceptions in three seasons at Alabama. In 2013 he was named first-team All-SEC and a consensus All-American.
Yeldon was a standout back for Alabama, rushing for 3,332 yards and 37 touchdowns in three seasons at Alabama. He also hauled in 46 receptions for 494 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner against LSU in 2012.
