The month of June has placed the Crimson Tide in contention with nearly every prospect that Kalen DeBoer and his coaching staff have pursued, as another prospect has announced that Alabama is one of his top three schools.

On Thursday, On3's Hayes Fawcett announced that four-star offensive tackle Deacon Schmitt is down to his top three schools, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Colorado. Fawcett also reported that Schmit had canceled his official visits to Tennessee, USC, and Nebraska, and his commitment date was set for June 28th.

Schmitt is a 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive tackle from Windsor, Colorado. On3 currently ranks him as the No.29 offensive tackle, No.1 player out of Colorado, and No.362 overall prospect in the 2026 class. Schmitt is quick off the line and doesn’t quit until he hears the whistle. The four-star film has several clips of him driving the defender 20-30 yards back by the time the play ends. The No.1 prospect out of Colorado in the 2026 class was in Tuscaloosa on May 30 for the Crimson Tide’s first of many recruiting weekends through June. This was Schmitt’s first visit to Capstone, where it looked like the elite offensive tackle had a great time, with Schmitt posting on his X profile photos from his Official Visit where he shared that he “Can’t wait to get back to T-Town!”

Schmitt has no other visits scheduled before his commitment date, which is set for the end of June. He has already made official visits to all three of his top schools. Last weekend, he visited Oklahoma, and on May 3rd, he visited his in-state college, Colorado, where he met with Coach Deion Sanders.

This would be a massive addition to the Crimson Tide’s recruiting class, which currently has two commits from two interior offensive linemen (Chris Booker and Samuelu Utu). Schmitt is the first offensive tackle in the Tide’s 2026 class, which currently ranks ninth in the nation and fourth in the SEC, according to On3's Team Recruiting Rankings. Schmitt will decide between the three schools on Saturday, June 28th.
