During the Under Armour Future 50 Media Day on July 15th, 5-star defensive back Cormani McClain announced that he will be taking an official visit to the University of Alabama on October 8.

According to 247 Sports, McClain is the fourth-ranked recruit in the Class of 2023. Although he is the highest-ranked recruit in the nation not playing quarterback.

The 6-foot-1 165-pound defensive back is about to start his senior year at Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, FL, which is a 40-minute drive from Downtown Tampa. Last year, McClain helped the Braves win a district title before losing in the state semifinals to Tampa Bay Tech.

McClain's recruitment has come down to Florida, Miami, and Alabama. Currently, Florida is the favorite to land McClain but he has praised Alabama for their development and their prestige recently.

McClain also stated at the Under Armour Media Day that "I am going to look into who will develop me the most and the best".

If McClain is looking for NFL production and development then look no further than Alabama. The University of Alabama currently has nine starting defensive backs in the NFL which includes All-Pro players such as Marlon Humphrey for the Baltimore Ravens, Trevon Diggs for the Dallas Cowboys, Minkah Fitzpatrick for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Eddie Jackson for the Chicago Bears, and most recently Patrick Surtain the second from the Denver Broncos.

According to On3 Recruiting, Florida has a 50 percent chance to land McClain but do not be surprised if McClain chooses the Crimson Tide on signing day.
