Bama in the NFL: Week Seven Recap
Week Seven has passed us by, and we saw some great performances in this past week's matchups from ex-Bama players. Great games were all over the place and it all started Thursday with the shootout in Cincinnati. Lets breakdown their performances.
Eagles - 28 at Vikings - 22:
Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - A great performance from Hurts as he tossed for over 300 yards for the first time this season, adding three touchdowns with it. He didn't do anything with his legs in this one. But again he is the leader for this team and put them on his back with his arm in this one.
DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - A massive game from Smitty as he put up season highs in every category and matched in touchdowns. He had nine catches for 183 yards and a touchdown. He was a big play maker and this offense is cooking in any way they need in order to win.
Will Reichard (Vikings) - Going five for five on field goals and making his lone PAT. Reichard was money and the main reason they were able to stay in the game. Still one of the best kickers in the league.
Dolphins - 6 at Browns - 31:
Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins) - Quite a tough performance to watch from Tagovailoa. Without getting much going on the ground, the Dolphins were pretty limited in all things offense. He tossed three pics and only threw for 100 yards. The Dolphins are now reeling and tough conversations are starting to be had.
Jaylen Waddle (Dolphins) - Limited to one catch for 15 yards. Much of this can be attributed to the poor qb play and continued offensive struggles. Without Hill he is keyed in on more from the defenses he faces. More struggles to come?
Jerry Jeudy (Browns) - With a main focus on running the ball, Jeudy did not see many balls his way. He caught two passes for 17 yards. Rookie qb play can also be attributed here as a heavy reliance on their tight end was what helped Gabriel out the most.
Buccaneers - 9 at Lions - 24:
Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) - Expecting a modest game against a typically stout run defense from the Bucs; Gibbs said not for me. Gibbs was absolutely electric Monday night. Breaking off a 78 yard touchdown run, making his final total 136 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns. He also added 3 catches for 82 yards. Absolutely the player of the week and he continues to show his extreme versatility and efficiency in all areas.
Jameson Williams (Lions) - With the reliance on Gibbs and him having a massive game carrying the load for this offense. Not much was asked or needed from Williams as he finished with nothing on the night.
Player of the week:
Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) - Clear RB1 and clearly the best performance in a game from a player this weekend. What a game from Gibbs!
That does it for the week seven recap, (Sorry for the day late posting). Check back tomorrow for the week eight outlook.
