The Miami Dolphins made one of the biggest splashes this offseason when they acquired six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs. Hill raved about his new quarterback Tua Tagovailoa when he met with reporters on Tuesday.

“Tua actually has one of the prettiest balls I’ve ever caught in my life... Tua is a very accurate QB,” Hill said. “I’m very confident in my QB… the sky is the limit for that guy. Heck of a talent. Has crazy arm strength, arm talent.”

Tagovailoa completed 67.8% of his passes for 2,653 yards with 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions last season. Accuracy has been a highlight of Tagovailoa’s game since his days at Alabama. Last season became the fourth quarterback since 1950 to record back-to-back games with an 80-plus completion percentage with a minimum of 30 attempts.

The 23-year signal caller finished second last season in deep-ball completion percentage among eligible quarterbacks, behind Justin Herbert.

Hill has become one of the most feared deep threats in NFL history during his time in Kansas City. His 15 touchdown catches of 40-plus yards since 2018 leads the NFL.

New Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel also raved about his quarterback during his Tuesday press conference.

"I’ve seen a guy that’s attacking the moment, a guy that really likes to play football,” McDaniel said. “In the process of college evaluations and in the National Football League in a different conference, you hear people describe a quarterback’s ‘instinctiveness.’ It’s kind of probably how it hits your ear, it hit mine, where that’s intriguing but I didn’t quite know what that meant. And now, I have a better idea of what that meant. I still don’t have a better way to describe it besides ‘instinctiveness,’ but you can tell the player’s played the position for a long time and that he thinks about the game of football through the lens of the quarterback position.

“So, I’ve been very excited about his development in terms of the offense and playing and being the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins.”
